Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 23, 2026
We collect the minimum needed to sell you a kit and deliver it. No ad pixels, no tracking cookies, nothing sold or shared with advertisers. We do count visits, listed below: our own pages and every hosted business page keep anonymous totals so we can tell whether a page is working. A counter, not a tracker. No cookies, no identifiers, nothing that could name you or follow you to another site.
1. What we collect, and why
- Checkout details. When you buy, Stripe collects your name, email, billing country, and payment details. Card numbers go to Stripe, not to us. Stripe shares with us the order details we need: what you bought, the email you used, and the answers to checkout fields.
- Your GitHub username. You enter it at checkout so we can invite you to your kit's private repository. That is its only use.
- A delivery record. For each order we store the checkout session id, kit tier, amount, your email, your GitHub username, and whether the invite succeeded — so the welcome page can show your delivery status and support can fix failed deliveries.
- Support email. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you now and honor your license later.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and debugging.
- Milestone reports. Kits report business facts about their own progress (business name, milestone, date, site address), tied to your order — the Terms describe it. Opt out any time; we delete reported milestones on request.
- Hosted page counts. Each hosted business page (thefounderkit.ai/b/…) keeps two anonymous weekly totals: page visits and payment-link taps. A counter, not a tracker — no cookies, no identifiers, nothing that could name a visitor — and the totals go only to that page's own account owner in their weekly report.
- Our own page counts. Our pages keep the same kind of anonymous totals (pages viewed, rough country, whether you arrived from a search or a link) so we can tell whether the site explains itself. This runs on Vercel Web Analytics: no cookies, no advertising identifiers, no profile, and nothing that follows you to another site. If you would rather not be counted at all, visit any page with
?va-disableon the end of the address and this browser stops sending counts.
2. Who processes it
- Stripe — payment processing and receipts.
- GitHub — kit delivery via repository invites.
- Vercel — website hosting and server logs.
- Upstash — storage for the delivery records described above.
Each processes data under its own privacy terms, on our instructions, to provide the service above. We don't sell your data, rent it, or share it with advertisers. Ever.
3. Email
You get transactional email only: the Stripe receipt and replies to messages you send us. There is no marketing list unless you explicitly join one, and buying a kit doesn't join you to anything.
4. Retention
We keep order and delivery records while your license is active and as long as tax and accounting law requires. Support email is kept as long as it's useful for helping you.
5. Your rights
Email support@thefounderkit.ai to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We'll do it promptly, keeping only what payment and tax law obliges us to keep. If you're in the EU, UK, or a state with a privacy statute (like the CCPA), these are your statutory rights and we honor them for everyone regardless of location.
6. Changes
If our data practices change, this page is updated and the effective date moves. We won't quietly start collecting more than described here.
